PETER ELLIAS

From Chris and Ayako Bathke, on Friday March 4, 2011

Please accept our deepest condolences.

Pete was not only a genuinely friendly person, but always had a joke or quip at hand. I always looked forward to visiting the Mellen farm in part because of the laughs to be had around the table playing card games. And his role as Santa that made a small Lindsey cry was certainly the jolliest and funniest I’ve ever seen.

You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Sincerely,

Chris & Ayako Bathke

From Jay and Joanne Barnes, on Friday March 4, 2011

We send our deepest condolences to you, Nancy, and your entire family. Peter was a very loving husband, father and grandfather. It is obvious that his values have been instilled in his children. We are grateful that Greg married our daughter, Mary, and it is obvious that Greg is a product of Pete’s value system which thereby makes him a wonderful father, husband and son-in-law. Pete will be greatly missed by all, but his life will go on in all who have come in contact with him. May God bless you and keep you. Much love,

Jay and Joanne

REUBIN FEHRMANN

From Dr. Leah Danner, on Monday, April 26, 2010

I would like to offer my condolences to the family of Reubin F. Fehrmann. I had the priviledge to meet this remarkable man last year, when I performed cataract surgery on one of his eyes. It was a pleasure getting to know him and I enjoyed learning about his military history in particular.

There is no doubt this honorable man made our world a safer, more colorful place. He will be sorely missed, and fondly remembered.

With sincere sympathy,

Leah A. Danner, MD –

From Gayle Gonsior and Larry Fickbohm family, on Monday, April 26, 2010

As Reubin’s neighbors down Evergreen Rd. we got to know him when our son Luke began to do some work for him, and later Brandon also. Since then we have enjoyed his stories of the past and conversation about current affairs many, many times. He did enjoy talking! It was our pleasure to help him and listen to him when we could.

I’m sorry we can’t be there for his service. He’s had quite a life! –

From Curt Knuuttila, on Monday, April 26, 2010

Roxanne,

My deepest condolences to you and the rest of your family. I’m not sure if you remember me or not, we graduated from South Shore High together in 1971. I was drafted and spent two years in the Army. Upon returning home in 1974, I frequently ran into your Dad at Rocky’s in Iron River, Wisconsin. We shared many military stories and a few laughs. I always enjoyed visiting with your Dad and listening to his stories. It saddened me to hear of his passing! He was a great man and will be missed.

Sincerely,

Curt Knuuttila

Dear Flesch Family:

I have so many fond memories of your parents. They were good friends of our family, and they came to my Dad’s bar (Dave’s Triangle) when I was growing up. Your mom is such a special lady. She was my sponsor when I was confirmed at St. John’s. Ruthie loved all of you, and would just glow when she spoke of you. You were truly her pride and joy. She had such a sweet, special spirit about her. I am sad to hear of he passing, but happy to know that she is with Bud. (I have some pictures of him when he and my Dad were in the Legion together. I would love to forward them to you. If you would like them, email me at fiestyrenee@gmail.com.) I am sorry for your loss. Know that your Mom is loved and missed by many. Prayers up for you and your families.

Hugs,

I’d like to express my deepest condolences to the family of Ruth F. Flesch. Ruth was always like a grandmother to me when I was a child. In fact, I used to call her ‘Grandma Ruthie’. She was also the only person whom my parents, Paul and Patti Poppe, would allow to call me Johnny. She was always very warm, kind, and friendly whenever I was able to visit her. I’ll think back on those days that she watched me as a child with nothing but fondness. With Love – John Poppe and family. –

From Ton and Julie Marincel Monday May 9, 2011

June was a wonderful lady. So caring, loving and giving. She was one of the best. Will never forget the time that she hit the school bus after morning mass at OLL. Your Dad had just bought that car for her and she said she did not liked it and hard to drive and that is why she hit the bus. She was afraid of your dad being so mad, so one of the priest was calming her down as waiting for your Dad to arrive to calm him down. I was the cook at the time at OLL and so was there for her for support and comfort. We would laugh about it later. Your mom saying I thought Tom was going to Kill me. Your mom was a true lady in every sense and she will be missed. Please accept our deepest sympathy on the loss of your mother. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Tom and Julie Marincel

And their sons. Colin and Cody.

…mom June as I always called her was a true blessing in my life…she will be greatly missed by me and my sisters…but know how strong her faith was…so she is truly an angel in heaven looking down on us all…thoughts and prayers… –

-

From Susanne Hargrove Friday, May 13, 2011

My deepest heartfelt condolences go out to June’s family. My mother, Ruth Nordin, was a close friend of June’s for many, many years. And my dad, Rudy Nordin, sailed the Great Lakes with Tom, her husband. I was so sad to hear about June’s passing. Iknow she is finally with her husband who I know she dearly loved. I feel so privileged to have been able to spend time with June last July for my mom Ruth’s 80th birthday party. She always wrote the dearest notes to my mom and had the fondest memories of them driving up to Silver Bay to see their husbands when the ore boat was docked. I have been blessed to know June and this world is a much better place because she was in it. It is a much sadder place because she is no longer here. Just know that she was loved by many. This is really affecting my mother who is in Court Manor with dimentia. She still remembers June and I know misses her deeply!

-

From David Joseph, on Monday, May 16, 2011

My deepest sympathies are with you in this time of loss. Junie was a dear friend to my grandmother (Kathryn Stuer), and was like a grandmother to me as well. It was an honor and privilege to have Junie at my wedding as my grandmother could not. June was a wonderful, caring woman and will be missed by many. She truly was an example of honest Christan love.

With deepest sympathy,

David Joseph
